The Next Launch is ESL 328, Sept 12th & 13th @ the Central Sod Farm
Must submit L1/L2 cert requests & Special projects no later than
8 days before launch date (Friday, Sept 4th)
Walk up cert requests are strongly discouraged.
Speed limit on Sod farm is 5mph!
Important Reminders: 3,000ft MAX altitude @ Sod Farm
Single deploy (chute at apogee) max altitude 2,000ft.
Anything over 2,000ft must be traditional dual deploy or chute release.
MDRA BoD may make exceptions as needed.
DO NOT CALL Central Sod Farm or any other landowner for questions about MDRA launches, lost rockets, and/or use of the field.  For all questions related to MDRA rocketry, send an e-mail to bod@mdrocketry.org. Any need for direct communication with a land owner must be handled through the BoD

Launch Rules:

Please contact MDRA BOD prior to planning any large flights, high altitude flights, or certification attempts.
All high power flights (except OddRocs) must be flown from a rail. MDRA strongly encourages that rails are used for F & G flights as well.
For L1 & L2 cert attempts, MUST fill out the form at the bottom of the Certifications page no later than 8 days before the launch (Ex: Friday May 8th, for a May 16th launch)
Please note that MAX altiitude at Higgs Farm is 5000ft for 2025/2026 season.
Please note that MAX altitude at the Sod Farm is 3000ft.

Maximum altitudes are only possible when ideal weather conditions permit. Please plan your flights accordingly.
Please print out Flight Cards to minimize activity at registration and RSO tables. The pre-printed flight cards are also available under “flyers Info” menu item.
MDRA membership cards are required to fly, and a valid TRA/NAR ID is required for High Power Flights.
No RC aircraft or drones allowed.
Please maintain 5mph on driveway (or as posted) and be extra careful of children playing
Please be aware of children and adults retrieving rockets
Park ONLY in designated parking areas
No driving on any field under any circumstances
Do not wander off the property without getting permission from MDRA BoD
No Camping
Take your trash with you
Be safe
Ask questions

MDRA always needs volunteers to assist with registration, pad mgmt, LCO spotter and RSO (must be level 2 or higher) at each launch. If we do not get volunteers to help out in those positions, then the launch will be paused. We need your help because the same MDRA board members are performing those duties at each launch and are burned out. Please support your club and volunteer your time. Sharing the load will help make the launch better for all. Thank you for your support.
