About the Maryland Delaware Rocketry Association (MDRA)

The Maryland Delaware Rocketry Association, Inc. (MDRA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the educational, scientific, and research pursuits within the exciting world of rocketry. Founded with the vision of fostering a passion for aerospace, science, and technology, the MDRA serves as a dynamic platform for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to engage with rocketry in meaningful and hands-on ways.

At the heart of our mission is the desire to create a welcoming environment where members can not only witness but also actively participate in the rocketry hobby. We strive to ignite curiosity, inspire creativity, and challenge individuals to think critically as they work on rocket projects, solve engineering problems, and explore the vast possibilities within the field of rocketry. Whether it's building and launching model rockets, conducting high-powered rocketry flights, or engaging in scientific research, the MDRA offers a variety of opportunities for learning and discovery.

Our commitment extends beyond the technical aspects of rocketry to include outreach and inclusion. We believe that rocketry has the power to inspire individuals from all walks of life, which is why we focus on making these experiences accessible to as many people as possible. Above all, we aim to reach and nurture the next generation—especially children—by creating opportunities for young minds to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through rocketry. We are deeply committed to ensuring that these opportunities are available to all, regardless of gender, race, religion, ability, age, or socioeconomic status.

Through collaborations with a wide range of educational institutions, research organizations, and community groups, MDRA fosters an inclusive environment that encourages learning, exploration, and growth. We work alongside schools, universities, and other youth-focused organizations to bring the excitement of rocketry to classrooms and communities, providing hands-on experiences that can inspire the next wave of scientists, engineers, and innovators.

In addition to our youth-focused initiatives, MDRA is also a vibrant community for adult enthusiasts, offering opportunities for skill development, mentorship, and networking. Our members are not only passionate about rocketry but also about sharing their knowledge and expertise with others, creating a collaborative space for learning and advancement.

At the MDRA, we are united by our passion for rocketry, our commitment to education, and our belief in the power of hands-on, experiential learning. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned rocketry veteran, we invite you to join us in exploring the thrilling world of rocketry—where the sky is the limit!
